About Catch Yourself

Camilla Wells- Founder
Former Barrister, Coach, Trainer and Public Speaker

Camilla developed this niche area of workplace support after practicing in family law and crime for 22 years. Having been exposed to distressing and sensitive material and traumatised clients in her work as a barrister, she looked for resources to help her manage the nature of her work and its impact, but found nothing. Following extensive training in coaching and trauma therapy she founded Catch Yourself to equip individuals and organisations to manage their work safely without impacting their health.

Catch Yourself offers training and coaching to a growing number of organisations and individuals in law, television, education and social care to develop awareness and protection against exposure to distressing material and trauma in their work.

Tailored collaborations with experts

Catch Yourself prides itself on being able to bring together specialist experts in the field of workplace stress and trauma to tailor sessions for the specific needs of organisations. Founder Camilla, draws on an extensive network developed through her legal career and beyond.

Expert collaboration

Our training and coaching programmes have evolved from decades of working with highly confidential material and dealing with vulnerable clients in high-pressured work environments. We understand the challenges and have created resources that make a significant difference to resilience, productivity and retention.

Camilla partners with a range of experts, including Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Bruce McEwan who has more than 20 years experience in mental health and trauma work in statutory, private and charitable sectors. Camilla and Bruce collaborate to devise and develop the training and resources.

“Camilla delivered a brilliant session about vicarious trauma... She walked us through the science behind it in a very accessible way and gave us tools and techniques to manage it. There is no doubt about it - dealing with grief, acrimony and strong emotion day in day out WILL take its toll… Some of us struggle with boundaries with clients and don't realise the effect it is having on us. Sometimes the lid on the pressure cooker pops off though and we may not know why.”
